A friend recommended Global College of Business and Technology, and I decided to study Diploma in Accounting and Payroll Administration. I finished my practicum at LK Toombs CPA & Associates P.C. Inc., an accounting and tax services company in St. Stephen, New Brunswick. And in March of this year, they officially hired me as a full-time Accounting Technician. It was a dream come true. When I began my Diploma in Medical Office Assistant and Unit Clerk at Global College, I sought a place to advance my career. After nearly 9 years in Food and Hospitality, the college has been instrumental in my career transition. Equipped with all the knowledge that was taught, from writing a resume and cover letter, to answering mock interviews. I applied, was selected for an interview, and got hired as a Unit Clerk in the Emergency Department under Alberta Health Services, even before completing my final course. Choosing Global College of Business and Technology for my studies in Accounting and Payroll Administration has been one of the most rewarding decisions I’ve made. The experience has been outstanding, and the quality of education is excellent. I worked as a Registered Medical Technologist in the Philippines for thirteen years, and, being new to the field of Financial Industry, I was hesitant in the first place to take a huge step, whether to study in a different field or pursue my profession back home. Being a part of this institution was a big opportunity for me. I was initially skeptical because it had been a while since I was in school, and the knowledge I had before would not be enough for me to graduate, especially in a different setting. But, to my surprise, I had managed to regain information and even improved my knowledge with the help of my instructors. They were very approachable and intelligent, which I am very grateful for. The courses of the whole program were very organized. It was done one at a time, and that is a big tribute to my success. Also, the admin staff was ready to assist and support any problems that we encountered.
