From Challenges to Career Triumphs
Widdlyn Nurval, a graduate of the Medical Office Assistant (MOA) program, demonstrated resilience in the face of personal and professional hurdles. After completing her practicum at Sehet Bow River Medical Centre, family responsibilities initially prevented her from accepting a part-time role. However, her story didn’t end there. With guidance from Global College’s Practicum Coordinator, she secured a full-time position at Healthlink Medical Clinic. Widdlyn credits her success to the unwavering support of her instructors and expresses heartfelt thanks to Dr. Susana Del Socorro, Ms. Sukriti Singh, Dr. Nabala Mujtuba, and Dr. Mandana Ebrahimi for their mentorship and encouragement.
Liezel Escalada, another MOA graduate, began her journey in a pig barn, working long hours while harboring dreams of a more fulfilling career. Thanks to the flexibility and empathy of her instructor, Dr. Mandana Ebrahimi, she was able to thrive in her studies. Liezel’s determination and the college’s supportive environment led her to graduate with honors and land a role as an Administrative Assistant at the Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority in Manitoba—an achievement that has opened doors to future career growth.
Redefining Dreams and Building Brighter Tomorrows
Maria Amorina Santos returned to school with a clear purpose: to provide a better future for her children. Enrolling in the Medical Office Assistant and Unit Clerk program was, as she describes, one of the best decisions of her life. The balance of hands-on learning and academic guidance empowered her to overcome her fears and step into a career with confidence. Her efforts paid off when she was offered a job at the same clinic where she completed her practicum. Maria now recommends the program to others aspiring to work in healthcare administration.
Ginalyn Lipnica’s journey is equally inspiring. As a barge crew member in a male-dominated industry, she faced physical exhaustion and the demands of full-time work while pursuing her Diploma in Accounting and Payroll Administration. Despite long hours and late-night classes, her perseverance was unwavering. Today, she works full-time as an Accounting Technician at LK Toombs CPA & Associates in New Brunswick—a testament to her grit and the flexible, accessible education model offered by Global College.
